It is my earnest hope as a human that we reach a place in our society where justice does not cost. A place where the poor would have the same starting point as the wealthy in a courtroom. A place where politics would find itself so far removed from the courtroom that only integrity could live there.

Under the Articles of Confederation, which governed the united colonies as they fought the Revolutionary War, there was no judicial branch of government. In essence there was no way of enforcing laws. In 1787, Alexander Hamilton argued that it would be “the least dangerous branch of government.” What do you think of that statement now in 2024?
